TODAY’S TOPIC:: SKY HIGH ELECTRIC, AND NO WIND IN SIGHT!

Neighbor 1: Starting in May 2021, we saw our utility bills start to rise.

Neighbor 2: I thought it was just mine. I wonder why?

Neighbor 1: I don’t know. High Heat, maybe? in May?

Neighbor 2: Yea, May is not that hot…, ummmm.. not sure.

Neighbor 1: I really haven’t done anything abnormal — keep air between 70-75, unplug things I am not using, you know, the normal stuff to cut costs.

Neighbor 2: I was gone for a week in May, and a week in June, but my bill was higher by $30-$40. They gave a little notice in the bill that it would go up $10 or so, but $40? on a normally $60-$80 bill? That’s ridiculous!

Neighbor 1: Tom did say his bill was unusually high, but didn’t say much else. Maybe we should check into it.

Neighbor 2: Well I called and asked them to come read my meter, and they said they didn’t do that anymore… lady said it is read automatically each night, and sent to their computers.

Neighbor 1: Oh, so maybe that is the problem. Maybe the software they are using is inflating the numbers?

Neighbor 2: Well, that could be the case. I wonder if it is by accident, or on purpose?

Neighbor 1: (Laughing) After what we have seen the past year-and-a-half, there is no telling where the evil lurks.
